Magazine Front cover (second draft)

This is an updated version of my front cover following the generic conventions and the research of front covers. The changes that I have made are;
  • The fonts do not have a different variety, they instead have the same style of font as following the convention of that "all magazine fonts are the same throughout, they do not use different fonts as that particular font may shadow the other texts".
  • There is more contents on the cover, this is so it can tell the audience the different articles and context that they have to offer.
  • I have kept the colour scheme the same, as I my magazine is rock it uses darker colours so I 've used less red and I am keeping to the colours that my audience have suggested following from the feedback/ questionnare.
  • The main article (in the middle of the magazine) I have enlarged, as it was abit small and genericly it needed to be bigger as it is the main article of my issue. I 've also ajusted the "I want to change the music industry!" quote by making it black instead of red and I've placed it with the other text in the same box and not on its own as it would look better.
However, there are still some concerns and issues about this version of my magazine cover. The barcode is still too big, it is taking much of the space and genericly it needs to be small and it usually is placed horizontally on the right hand side of the page. Another issue is that the different contents are too big (in terms of the font titles). The masthead is still small and is being underminded by the other fonts (this should not be the case as the mastehead is usually the biggest font on the page). To improve this I need to make it smaller, also the contents of "the competition" are over the artist. This should not happen as again genericly in the first issue, this should not be the case as the audience need to see the artist and not having some of the fonts covering his/ her face. Abig issue is that there is still lots of space that can be filled with more context/contents. All of these issue I will deal with a produce another front cover which will likely be my final one.
