- I've put mini logo's on the page footer next to the page numbers, as this is what music magazines have.
- I've added new text on the first page next to my picture of my artist reading "Rockfusion Exclusive".
- I've changed the font of the title to a more shaded style. This is because so it could have more effect then the last font.
- I also made my editor's note bold so that it is sepreate from the text.
- Also I made the pull quote red instead of black because it needed to match with my colour scheme of Black, grey and red.

Double Page Spread - final
This is my final product, from my research, planning, analysing and ajusting. instead of putting it on two pages, I put it all on one page in landscape mode so that it would be easier. The DPS looks so much better in terms of preentation and layout. The interview is corrected and changed so that it makes sense and instead of placing it on the layout of the arm I seperated it so that it is on it's own, I also changed the design of the interview's text and that it matches the existing DPS's interviews text font. I also used a pull qoute from my interview and placed it in the middle of the three columns and placed the second image underneath the third column and put a caption underneath it (which is conventional of the DPS images), also I placed a editors note on what is to come from Max Newman. With a bottom bar with the page numbers, in total my DPS looks neat, professional and realistic and that it shows a good use of typical and generic conventions of a music magazine double page spread. From my first draft, this final piece look better (interms of presentation and organisation).
Music magazine Double Page Spread - First Draft

This is my second page with my interview for my DPS. It has the title in bold and the other image. However since this is my first draft there are some faults with this. To star, the interview is scruffy as I'm trying to get it to organise with the arm (that is part of the image as it usually comes into the second image aswell). Also it is not organised, in terms of the text as there are multiple space inbetween and there is no pull qoute. All of this I will sort out and my next one will be my final piece which will look much better and presentable.
Analysis of interviews - contents and Plan
Before I made my Double page spread, I had to research about the interviews in the double page spread which I need to create my own one for my magazine. I had to decrypt the interviews and point out what is talked/ written about in the interviews and these are what I found or what are usually included.
These are what I found in the interviews that I found and with the use of my general knowledge aswell and how there are many topics that can be discussed in the interviews.
With this I had to create my own interview with the typical conventions of an interview in it as well.
This is my interview that I finished
This is my interview that i constructed from my research and analysis. Although this is my first one there maybe some faults and this I will change and correct.
Double page spread plan
This is my plan for my double page spread, following on from my research of existing double page spreads and listing/ finding the generic conventions and features of a typical double page spread.
Throught my research of existing double page spreads of Q, Vibe and NME magazines I have come to a final plan of how I'm going to layout and present my double page spread and these are what I'm going to do -
- From my research, I found that what I usually typical of a DPS is that they usually have a whole page that is completely filled with an image taken from the photo shoot of the artist and on the other side is complete text and so I thought that my DPS would have that layout.
- Onto the other side the layout of the text is usually sorted into/ or has usually three columns on a page and that is what my text will be presented as.
- The title of the page is usually catchy or is named to match the discussion of the interview. I will have it in bold (as that is what most titles are shown as in DPS) and make it big and in black lettering.
- The most typical feature of a DPS is a pull quote (a pull quote is bits of text that have been taken from the interview and that are already in the text and put usually in the middle of the page/ column to pick/ show the important bits and sayings of the interview. I will have this in my DPS and I will work out which qoute I will use from my interview as the pull quote.
- I will also use another photo on the second page (that is because the second page features another image of the artist doing something which is usually doing a concert or doing something that they love).
- I will also have a caption under the picture to describe the photo and also the editors note on whats to come from my artist (i.e. album releases, concerts etc.).
Contents Page Final piece
This is my final product of my music magazine contents page, following on from the planning and research and analysing of existing magazine's contents pages.
Through my analysis of contents pages I've designed and made my magazine's own content's page with the use of the typical format, layout and features of a contents page. For example I have put a couple of contents that are in the magazine on the page and presented them all neatly in a row and with text of whats in them/ teasers of what the context will have in it. Also with the use of the contents page numbers in line with their content and the Max Newman number in white apart from the rest being purple. This is because it seperates the two and that the Max Newman content is different compared to the other ones. I've also use an original image of me portraying as Max Newman over his intended text box. I also have some small text at the bottom of the page and that displays the people who contributed to the shoot and where it was actually taken (this was taken from analysing the contents page's of Vibe magazine as I thought that it would be good for my own one).
I also added the masthead/ logo of my music magazine onto the top of the page and at the bottom (this was due to analysing of Q magazine's contents pages and also due to many magazines having their logo/ masthead on the top of their contents page's). I also added the month and year of publish and my music magazine's website, this is because I thought that it would look good on there and also that some magazines have that on their pages and so I wanted to stick with the typical features and generic conventions of a contents page of a music magazine. The tear of the top magazine I put is good because it sepreates the two and also that because my music magzine is dedicated to rock and it's genre is rock music, it is usually scruffy and torn and so I thought that I would place it there as also to stick with the conventions of a rock music magazine.

Contents Page plan
- Articles are sorted/ organised into collumns
- The page number is big and blod (this is so the audience can easily read/ see what page the article is on in the magazine)
- The page number at the bottom right hand corner of the page
- The differents articles have sub - headings which are shown in bold and bright colours (usually colours that follow the magazines colour scheme/ theme.
Magazine front cover (Final draft)
- The fonts of the contents have been made very small following on from the conventions so it dosen't undermine the masthead.
- There is more content. The botton of the page is filled with a "coldplay poster special", this is/was so I could offer my audience with more contents and features.
- I've made the masthead bigger, following from the generic conventions, I've made it bigger, as it is steriotypicaly bigger than the rest of the text and the caption "the magazine that rocks this world" I've made smaller as well. This because that the previous drafts, the caption was also undermining the mastead as it was bigger than the masthead itself.
- I've organised my contents and put them into columns and not so far apart.
- The barcode is smaller and is put horizontaly on the right side of the page.
- The main issue I've made bigger and put it all in black and pink. With the box surrounding it, I decided to give it some texture and used a silver graded style box, as I thought that it would look nice, which it does.

Magazine Front cover (second draft)
This is an updated version of my front cover following the generic conventions and the research of front covers. The changes that I have made are;
- The fonts do not have a different variety, they instead have the same style of font as following the convention of that "all magazine fonts are the same throughout, they do not use different fonts as that particular font may shadow the other texts".
- There is more contents on the cover, this is so it can tell the audience the different articles and context that they have to offer.
- I have kept the colour scheme the same, as I my magazine is rock it uses darker colours so I 've used less red and I am keeping to the colours that my audience have suggested following from the feedback/ questionnare.
- The main article (in the middle of the magazine) I have enlarged, as it was abit small and genericly it needed to be bigger as it is the main article of my issue. I 've also ajusted the "I want to change the music industry!" quote by making it black instead of red and I've placed it with the other text in the same box and not on its own as it would look better.
