Magazine Success Criteria

We started looking at school magazines that had been made for coursework by past students and wthen we decided what could be improved and what it good of/about it.
The magazine must contain:-
·         A wide range of fonts and colours to make the cover more interesting (i.e.-)
Ø  Colourful and stylish fonts
Ø  A more appealing desgin
·         The cover needs to have a good cover photo so the audience can tell that it is a magazine for school students (refer to the Mise-en-Scene) i.e-
Ø  School students wearing the school uniform
Ø  Students or teachers in class
Ø  Image of the school
Ø  School stationary
Ø  Clubs
Ø  Students studying
Ø  School life
·         There must be no spelling mistakes on the cover page or the contents.
·         On the contents page there must be more stories or topics (maybe 10 or 13) so that it makes the audience want to read on.
·         There must be a price on the magazine or somewhere on the cover to show how much the magazine costs or if it’s free.
·         As on the cover page the contents page must be/ have fun and engaging colours and fonts.
·         Don’t use the same fonts or colours (it makes the magazine seem boring and dull and it won’t catch the target audience’s attention.
·         The cover must have or show the date and when it’s out (e.g. weekly, monthly and how long).
·         Don’t forget to include the barcode (it’s usually put on the bottom right or left.
·         When editing a photo or clip art, make sure it’s edited properly (i.e. it looks professional and it’s not scruffy: it is smart and neat).
